ABOUT Ekaterina Kukhareva: Ekaterina Kukhareva launched her eponymous knitwear line in 2009 after graduating from Central Saint Martins with BA in Textiles in London. Producing unique knitted fabric, this label is known for its luxury hand-made trimmings. ABOUT ashlyn’d: ashlyn’d was launched in January 2013. After searching for clutches and evening bags for herself, Los Angeles native and designer Ashlee Nik, felt that there was a lack of unique and affordable options in the market place. Ashlee, wanted to explore the idea of making bags that were entirely unexpected. The concept of creating clutches that looked like marble, granite, wood etc. seemed to ins pire the “nature themed” collection. The ashlyn’d team chose to use acrylics and exotic woods with custom finishes to achieve these looks. During this process, Ashlee came up with the idea of creating a “snow-globe” effect clutch using translucent acrylic filled with colored sand that floated and later led to entire collection of bags filled with pearls, crystals, and much more. While constructing the clutches, they wanted to ensure that each bag had everything a girl may need; a mirror to touch up her makeup, enough room to fi t all of the necessities (a phone, lipstick, credit card and ID, and much more!). With an emphasis on innovative and stylish designs, the best of quality, and affordable price points, each ashlyn’d bag is its own little piece of art.
