“It was spectacular,” writes Poppy of the moment. “At 4am, rummaging through bushes for our stray couture, I realized it wasn’t just another friendship.” She also reveals their shared weakness for whisky (Chung fell asleep at a craps table in Las Vegas after drinking a little too much) and boys (“I’m boy-crazy and always will be, but Alexa is really boy-crazy”).
The accompanying shoot for Net-A-Porter’s The Edit sees the photogenic pair take a very stylish road trip, sporting an array of lust-worthy designs.
Delevingne also talks of Alexa’s ability to “bring a suitcase the size of a piece of calamari and yet each day she’ll wear something mouth-wateringly stylish.”
“I’m guaranteed to have a smile on my face when she’s around,” she adds. “I asked her what her favourite road-trip movie is and she read my mind: ‘We’re the female version of The Trip!’ The tagline to that film is: ‘Eat, drink and try not to kill each other’. I’d say that sums it up perfectly.”
