The Arab Fashion Council (AFC) has launched a groundbreaking initiative set to redefine how emerging fashion talent from the Arab world steps onto the global stage. Announced today, the AFC Fashion Fund is a $500,000 biennial commitment created to accelerate one visionary Ready-to-Wear (RTW) designer into an internationally recognised brand.
Unlike typical fashion prizes, this fund acts as a four-season accelerator program designed to nurture talent over two years. It provides unparalleled support, access, and brand strategy to equip emerging designers with the tools they need to scale globally—while maintaining a strong cultural identity.
A Future-Focused Approach
The AFC Fashion Fund is not a one-off cash prize. It’s a full-circle transformation, structured to build long-term success for one designer every two years through a deeply personalized and immersive program.
Key program features include:
-
Four Seasons of Global Runway & Market Access
-
Three fully produced runway shows by AFC
-
Showroom representation in Paris during pre-season markets
-
Introductions to key buyers in strategic markets
-
-

A Selective, High-Impact Model
The fund’s biennial format ensures focused attention on a single designer per cycle, enhancing the depth of support and maximizing outcomes. This designer embarks on a journey that culminates in international runway shows, global retail access, and a legacy-building collaboration—all by 2027.
Applications for the inaugural cycle open in June 2025, with the winner announced in October. The selected designer’s transformation will begin immediately thereafter.
“This is not a prize. It’s an evolution,” said Mohammed Aqra, Chief Strategy Officer of the Arab Fashion Council. “We’re building sustainable, export-ready brands that carry our region’s spirit to the world.”
As the largest non-profit fashion body across 22 Arab countries, the AFC continues to push boundaries. The Fashion Fund cements its role as a catalyst for global competitiveness rooted in Arab creativity.
