5th Impact Fashion Show, 3-day summit September 4, 2020

5th Impact Fashion Show

The 5th Impact Fashion Show returns with a twist on Friday, Sept. 4, 2020 as the first virtual fashion show showcasing Fair Trade and Vegan Fashion as part of a three-day summit.

Founded in 2015 by stylist and activist Sica Schmitz, the Impact Fashion Show (formerly Fair Trade Fashion Show) is entering its fifth year with a new name and an even bigger mission. The annual show brings together industry and artisan fashion leaders with the goal of presenting the world with inspiring and tangible solutions to global challenges. This event features not only the much-anticipated virtual runway show but also inspirational speakers and panelists, a curated, pop-up marketplace of animal-free and ethically-produced artisan fashion clothing and accessories, interactive workshops on fashion activism and sustainable entrepreneurship, and opportunities for small-group networking and discussion. This year’s goal is to bring together innovative companies and dedicated individuals to create a fashion industry that is safe for people, animals and the planet. The event is fair trade, entirely vegan and responsibly produced. Everything — from the models to the runway collection — is chosen with these values in mind so viewers and participants can enjoy an experience that leads the way towards a more just, compassionate and sustainable world. “Fashion should be inclusive of all kinds of bodies and beauty, and exclude—to the best of our abilities—the exploitation of all people, animals, and natural resources,” said Sica Schmitz, founder of the Impact Fashion Show.

The event will feature discussions with some of the most active influencers and minds in the human rights and fair trade communities featuring topics including Inclusivity in Fashion, Black Lives Matter in Fashion, Innovative in Vegan Textiles, LGBTQI+ Pride in Fashion, Clean Fibers: Organic & Regenerative Fashion, Made in America Fashion, Giving Back: Charity + Fashion, Fair Trade in Fashion, Circularity: Pre-Loved & Re-Loved Fashion, Women-Led Fashion, and more.

Panelists include Rachel K Lincoln (prAna), Dr. Hope Ferdowsian (Phoenix Zones Initiative), Claire Powers (KINdom), Haley Jaeger (Atonement Design), Rachel “Elle” Litiatco (ELLERALI), Tyler Chanel (Thrifts + Tangles), Sica Schmitz (Impact Fashion Show Founder). Sponsors for the 2020 Impact Fashion Show include Waz!MU, Charles Vane, Wynnr, Pariah Underwear, Jace Real Estate, Phoenix Zones Initiative, Califia Farms, Wendroff & Associates, One Hope Wine, and FAIR Drinks, with media partners.

The runway show itself will feature looks curated from an all-vegan stock of global artisan designers showing how fashion can be a tool for empowering both those who make and those who wear fair trade fashion. Tickets for the summit and fashion show range from $25-$65. More information on the

tickets can be found here. To learn more about the nonprofit organization, visit www.impactfashion.org.
