San Diego’s most anticipated summer event, the Del Mar Racetrack, is famous for its celebrity appeal, fashion-forward crowd and glamorous Kentucky Derby-esque vibe. Offering far more than just Thoroughbred racing, the track offers Old Hollywood allure, beautiful people, elaborate hats and couture dresses. The rich and famous have been frequenting Del Mar since Bing Crosby first opened the seaside track in 1937, and celebrities like Lucille Ball, Gwen Stefani and Uma Thurman have been known to visit Del Mar over its more than 75-year history.
The track’s Opening Day is Wednesday, July 17, and we expect more than 47,000 attendees dressed to the nines.
