The event no self-respecting fashion cognoscente wants to miss, DC Fashion Week (DCFW) proudly announces its 19th season of fabulous fashion events at multiple venues throughout the Washington, DC metro area beginning the 23rd through the 29th of September 2013.
The countdown to the seven-day schedule of events begins that Monday with the Eco Fashion Show & Kick-Off at the Woolly Mammoth Theater. As the influence of world cultures on American fashion converges, this showcase unveils environment-friendly fashion while highlighting the importance of �going green.�
Touted as Washington, DC�s favorite red carpet designer, DCFW�s executive director, Ean Williams, along with Inova Going Green set-off fashion flares the following Tuesday at The Corjor International Fashion Show. Hosted by Madame Tussauds (located at 1001 F St. NW), this showcase places the spotlight on the latest international men�s & women�s wear with red carpet flair � for your eyes only!
The middle of the week highlights the Emirates Fashion Designer Showcase at the Embassy of the UAE, located at 3522 International Ct. NW. This revealing event de-classifies innovative, yet inspirational runway and gallery presentations.
Can you keep a secret? Neither can DCFW! Expect to be kept in the loop at the Dirty Martini Bar & Restaurant (Dupont Circle), where the largest gathering of area fashionistas, including designers, models, photographers, media, retailers and life-style bloggers co-mingle, during the Fashion Industry Networking Party on Thursday.
The weekend starts with DCFW�s debut of the Haute & Modesty Fashion Show at the National Press Club. This showcase is expected to reveal the fashion industry�s latest top secrets � strictly on a need-to-know basis!
Returning this season is the popular Emerging Designer Showcase (hosted by the Washington Post Conference Center) on Saturday as well as the International Couture Collections (normally hosted by the Embassy of France) now at the Historical Society of Washington (across from the convention center) on Sunday. Given the past performances of these two events, the countdown is sure to end with a bang!
