Fashion, The Lifestyle Dubai Fashion Week SS24 Review

Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) continues to dazzle fashion enthusiasts with its vibrant and innovative showcase of creativity. Co-founded by Dubai Design District (d3) and the Arab Fashion Council (AFC), this year’s event proved to be a remarkable fusion of futuristic designs, empowering collections, and a celebration of individuality.

FAD TALENTS BY FAD DUBAI:
FAD Dubai, the fashion school of the future, stole the spotlight by presenting the creations of its emerging design talents. The runway was ablaze with sleek metallic jackets, bold sunglasses, and a spectrum of vivid colors. Asymmetric coats and jackets, characterized by bold cuts and vibrant hues, turned each piece into a fashion statement.

POCA & POCA:
POCA & POCA continued to showcase its mastery in creating feminine and empowering collections. The combination of floral patterns, wide shoulders, and airy fabrics exuded modern femininity. Pristine whites, soft creams, delicate beiges, subtle pinks, and timeless blacks graced the runway, accented by signature ruffles and flounces. The versatility of these looks made them a perfect choice for the contemporary empowered woman.

YASPIS:
YASPIS, a folk-inspired contemporary brand, maintained its ethical approach to fashion with the “Homecoming” collection. Earthy tones and muted pastels celebrated humanity’s connection to nature. Deep burgundy and subtle gray hues enhanced the designs, emphasizing the idea that color is an expression of one’s energy.

SELFMADE:
SELFMADE wowed the audience with edgy and daring streetwear, showcasing body-shaping silhouettes that exuded confidence. The designer’s expertise in denim and textile technology shone through custom-designed fabrics and strategically placed cutouts.

EMERGENCY ROOM:
“Neverland High,” the latest collection from Emergency Room, carried a fictional school-inspired aesthetic. It boldly expressed the brand’s commitment to individuality and resistance against conventional educational systems. Upcycling techniques, patchwork denim, and handcrafted accessories were key highlights, all set to an eclectic music fusion.

DFW SS24 promises more excitement with upcoming runway shows featuring Graduate Fashion Week International, BLSSD, Zeena Zaki, Dima Ayad, and Anomalous X Schwarzkopf. Additionally, the Mega Showroom retail pop-up continues, offering a unique shopping experience for buyers and the public at Building 11 in d3.

DFW continues to push the boundaries of fashion, showcasing emerging talents, empowering women, and promoting sustainability—all against the backdrop of Dubai’s vibrant fashion landscape.
