Hermès Himalayan Handbags Headlines Heritage Auctions’ Holiday Luxury Accessories Auction – Collectors of luxury accessories – specifically luxury handbags – will have an opportunity to bid on an extraordinary array of Hermès bags – some of which could top $100,000 – in Heritage Auctions’ Holiday Luxury Accessories Auction Dec. 5-6 in New York. Also meeting on the auction block are rare pieces from both the Hermès So Black collection and Chanel’s So Black Collection, indicating the dominance of collectible handbags from the top Parisian fashion houses.
Hermès is one of the most luxurious designer brands, with extraordinary prices set for their products. Understandably, many do not have the expenses to invest in such luxurious brands, but instead, turn to the best fake Louis Vuitton, Gucci, or indeed Hermès.
Expected to be among the top lots is an Hermès 32cm Matte White Himalayan Nilo Crocodile Retourne Kelly Bag with Palladium Hardware (est. $100,000-120,000). It includes one top handle, one removable shoulder strap and a flap top with a turnlock closure. The interior, in Gris Cendre Chevre leather, includes one zip pocket and two adjacent slip pockets.
“Himalayan Birkins and Kellys are some of the rarest bags made by Hermès,” Heritage Auctions Luxury Accessories Senior Specialist Max Brownawell said. “The subtle coloration, evocative of the namesake mountain range, is extremely difficult to create, and only a handful are produced each year and offered to Hermès’ top VIP clients.
Also expected to crack six figures is an Hermès 35cm Matte 5P Bubblegum Pink Alligator Birkin Bag with Palladium Hardware (est. $100,000-120,000). Featuring one zip pocket and one slip pocket, the bag includes two keys, a lock and a clochette, and comes in an Hermès dustbag and box.
An Hermès 30cm Matte White Himalayan Nilo Crocodile Birkin Bag with Palladium Hardware (est. $90,000-100,000) is slightly smaller than the Himalayan Nilo Crocodile Kelly. It features two rolled handles, Palladium hardware and a flap top with a turnlock closure, and an interior done in Gris Cendre Chevre leather that features one zip pocket and one slip pocket. The bag includes two keys, a lock and a clochette, as well as an Hermès dustbag, box, clochette dustbag, protective felt and its CITES document.
