The Designer

Los Angeles Fashion Week Spring 2015 Review

I have attending a plethora of fashion shows since the early 1990’s. I must share a few mere facts, I truly miss the LA. Fashion weeks hosted under the brand Smash Box and sponsored by Mercedes Benz.

I think, Los Angeles fashion producers should all get together under one umbrella and make it right for L.A. moving into 2015 and beyond. As I reflect on producing my first major presentation showcasing merging fashion designers spring 2014 collections one year ago – it takes an amazing staff, great fund sponsors and the right team of folks to pull off an extraordinary fashion presentation here in LALA Land.

It’s truly all about taking good care of all the local media, the celebrity talent and fashion show guests in general who are in love with reviewing runway fashion show presentations from season to season.

Today, I reflect on the fashion show presentations my style team and I thought were well presented that reflect the true sense of great style in Los Angeles for spring 2015.

ARTS HEARTS FASHION SHOWS

1st up is Michael Costello’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection. I have heard much about Mr. Michael Costello over the years. At the Art Hearts Fashion two day LAFW presented this October 2014, I was totally excited to see Michael rip the runway with his collections of MT Costello and his couture brand Michael Costello. This amazing fashion designer is the STAR of the Los Angeles fashion scene. His collection for Spring 2015 is fresh, new and exciting. The overall presentation was the best of best on here on the west coast.

The lights dimmed before MT Costello (Stephanie Costello’s line in collaboration with brother Michael Costello) took the runway featuring the collection’s unapologetic aesthetic that redefines luxury. Sexy dark and edgy silhouettes sauntered down the runway filling the room with a palpable energy and excitement. Famed designer Michael Costello closed Art Hearts Fashion with his most brilliant and iconic collection to date. The devastating beauty of the designer’s custom gowns entranced everyone watching, eliciting cheers with every piece.

To add further, the venue and the darling fashion production team of ParkerWhitaker were amazing. These ladies and their staff pulled together a good LAFW event. Art Hearts Fashion is proud to partner with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and support their important work.

Guests, celebrities and star athletes including Terrell Owens, Deandre Jordan, No Doubt’s Stephen Bradley, Courtney Stodden, Joe Simpson, Bobby Brown, star cast of Rich Kids of Beverly Hills, MTV 90’s VJ Jesse Camp, Members of Cypress Hill, Candice Cayne and playboy playmates, packed the venue, enjoying art and installations by Sham Ibrahim, Joseph Jasso, and Eugene Huffman before the evening’s shows.

The star-studded shows were full of fantastic celebrity models including: NFL Player Dale Moss, Actor Carlo Mendez brother of Eva Mendez, Guess Girl and Winner of America’s Next top model Jourdan Miller, ANTM superstars Kiara Belen and Reina Hein, Sam Sarpong, Skylar Diggins and Nadia Mejia Star of VH1’s Suave Says, as well as Playboy Playmates Carly Lauren, Val Keil, and Stephanie Branton.

Many designers presented both days. Our favorites were: Kami Shade, R. Michelle, Twala Intimates, Maya Hansen and other notables.
