Poshmark Empowers the Next Generation of Fashion Retailers

Poshmark Empowers the Next Generation of Fashion Retailers. Today Poshmark, the largest social commerce marketplace for fashion where anyone can buy, sell and share their personal style, announces its fourth annual conference, PoshFest, brings together 300 female entrepreneurs from across the country to learn how to grow their fashion businesses. Poshmark has grown sixfold over the past two years, with one in every 50 women in the U.S. selling on the app, and is a powerful shopping platform for anyone to run a successful boutique. The company is also a new channel for fashion brands to distribute inventory through it’s massive network of social sellers. To continue to blur the lines between online and offline shopping habits, Poshmark will bring its recently launched retail business to life during PoshFest on October 1-2 at Los Angeles’ California Market Center, steps away from the city’s famed fashion district.

What is PoshFest?
PoshFest is a fashion conference that brings together hundreds of stylish, entrepreneurial women for a weekend packed with inspirational speakers, educational panels and workshops, fun parties and networking opportunities. Attendees learn about fashion trends, success stories, and connect with peers.

This year’s event kicks off with a State of the Posh Union from Poshmark’s CEO and founder, Manish Chandra, and a packed two-day agenda to inspire and educate women as they learn how to scale their businesses. Some sessions include:

I Dream It, I Work Hard, I Grind ’til I Own It: The Deets on Doubling Your Sales: Five successful Poshers spill all their secrets, outline their sales and marketing strategies and share what it takes to double sales on the platform.
Data is the New Black: How to use data to inform business decisions and influence more sales.
Trend Report LIVE: Live production of the company’s in-house TV show, where women can discover and discuss current trends, brands and exclusive merchandising tips.
Welcoming Brands to the Poshmark Community: A panel with brands currently on the platform, discussing the evolution of the fashion industry and the power of the Poshmark seller.

PoshFest will also be the first debut of PoshMARKET, bringing the company’s innovative in-app Wholesale Marketplace to life where attendees can touch and feel select fashion brands that are currently selling through Poshmark’s massive network of social sellers. In addition, PoshFest will feature a fashion show with 15 brands available for wholesale purchase showcasing their designs on the runway. Designers and brands looking to get their products seen by retailers might want to try out something like the Rangeme platform to improve the discovery of their products.

Reimagining the Retail Industry for Mobile to Power The Next Generation of Retailers
Consumer shopping behavior has changed over the last several years, as shoppers increasingly opt for online platforms to discover and purchase fashion – creating a shift in retail, forcing companies to transition online. In order to recreate the personal connection of shopping that was lost in the shift towards e-commerce, Poshmark has prioritized social and commerce, to enable anyone to tap into the $500 billion U.S. fashion market and start a successful boutique from their mobile phone.

Earlier this year, Poshmark launched its Wholesale Marketplace to connect brands directly to its highly engaged network of 1.5 million sellers. In addition, Poshmark launched Boutiques, a new way for shoppers to discover sellers stocking new merchandise from indie brands in their boutiques. These new features have helped amplify sales for top sellers on the app, with some reaching six figures and garnering millions of followers. Combined, these innovations have fueled a new generation of retailers using their social influence to drive sales – curating over four million items daily, leading to a sale being made every few seconds on the app.

“We have a massive, passionate community of users who are essentially rewriting the rules of the fashion industry,” said Poshmark founder and CEO Manish Chandra. “They are flocking to the platform en masse to grow as fashion entrepreneurs and we are continuing to support their growth by offering them more ways to be successful retailers – from innovations in social merchandising to new inventory sources. PoshFest is our biggest event of the year, where sellers can come together and connect with each other in person like they do in the app, helping one another realize and fulfill their fashion dreams.”
