Spring/Summer MakeUp Trend Forcast

Spring/Summer MakeUp Trend Forcast. The first part of our Topic of the Week She’s got the look was about makeup artists, telling us about the latest colors, textures and styles that will adorn the eyes in the upcoming season. This week will be about the 2nd part of the makeup trends for Spring/Summer 2016.

The Dark Side
From delicate nude hues via fruity and lush shades to dark berry hues, the Spring/Summer color palette offers a wide range of shades– the bigger the choice, the harder it is to choose! “Bright lips are just as stylish and seductive as nude ones. It depends on the combination of the look,” Peter Schmidinger explains. But be careful: Orange, pink, red, fuchsia or aborigine don’t look great on every woman.

Apart from the hair color, type and shape of the lips, one’s own skin color is decisive. In general, this year’s trend is “extremely variable texture-wise as well as in terms of the color,” Iris Martin knows. However, especially Dark Colors such as aborigine or oxblood are calling the shots now, Peggy Schmitz-Lilkendey explains: “The trend is towards very dark lip colors, reminding us of the early 90s.” In order to bring dark lipstick to bear, the lips shouldn’t be dry at all. You can start with a lip peeling or some lip balm whereupon you can start applying lipstick with a thin paintbrush. The rest of the makeup should be unobtrusive. Those who prefer discreet lips can create a subtle glow by using a pearl-colored, metallic satin hue, Iris Martin advises.

Metallic manicure & Gradient Nails
When it comes to eye shadow, not only metallic and chrome are in vogue this summer; the metallic cast looks great on the nails as well. This trend was observable at the big Fashion Shows, among others at Chanel, Giamba or Marc Jacobs. For his models, Philipp Lim focused on a dark basic shade on which silver nail art foil sets exceptional accents. As with the eyeliner, you can experiment with shapes and shades, and create graphic looks on the nails.

To create ombré nails, a brighter color is applied from the nail bed, transforming into a darker shade at the nail tip. For the perfect transition of the colors, the nail polish can be dabbed on some aluminum foil and slightly mixed with a toothpick until there’s a smooth transition. By using a makeup sponge, this mixture then will be applied on the nails carefully – the gradient nails are done!

Always look on the bright side
Everything has to be put in perspective. The same is true for the complexion! Whereas dark colors can make the nose appear smaller or the cheekbones more prominent, brighter hues highlight particular parts of the face and conjure a fresh look.

Even though Kim Kardashian is known for being the queen of Contouring – 2016 is the year of Strobing. The trend of the previous year, referring to stroboscope flashes that accentuate the advantages of the face by setting highlights, continues again. “Contouring never goes out of style as it makes the face appear harmoniously,” Peter Schmidinger explains. “It is about making sharp contours softer – and vice versa. With a bit of practice, this can be easily done with highlighter and rouge. “The highlighter nuances should match the other colors of the makeup,” Stephan Schmied comments.
