Taraji P. Henson, Celebrates Her Birthday In Style. Nominated for best leading actress, Empire’s star Queen Lyon celebrated her birthday in NYC. The celebration was nothing less than fierce; All gold and lots of Lions, courtesy of CROSS fine writing instruments (known for their Peerless 125 Limited Edition Fountain Pen, with 23K gold appointments).
Check out the dress Taraji rocked at her birthday celebration. Guests included Empire creator, Lee Daniels, and various Empire cast members, as well as Brian Grazer, Mary J Blige, Morris Chestnut and Adam Rodriguez, her co-star from Empire’s second season. They started the night with fun photos and signing her birthday card with a life-size CROSS fine writing instrument, then enjoyed a decadent dinner at Asia de Cuba.
The story of the CROSS brand begins in 1846 when artisan Richard Cross, in partnership with his son Alonzo Townsend Cross revolutionized fine writing instruments. Their early mark of entrepreneurial excellence included tools refined through more than 100 patents and accented by the spoils of the California gold rush. Still positioned to set the bar for what it means to symbolize achievement, human potential and usable luxury, CROSS seeks to provide those possessing extraordinary vision and a strong entrepreneurial spirit with the tools needed to make their mark.
Dessert featured a beautiful gold cake topped with, what else, a gold lion, surrounded by Ciroc bottles shooting off sparklers! And the gift of the night, the Peerless 125 Limited Edition Fountain Pen, with 23K gold appointments, mentioned above. The pen was presented to the Empire star to celebrate how she has made her mark on the entertainment industry– just as CROSS launches its new “Make Your Mark” campaign using the hashtag #MakeYours.
After the dessert and gifting, the party moved to the club “Up and Down” where friends Common and Kanye West joined to celebrate the big day….and where Ciroc and DeLeon took center stage.
“Stay Fierce like the Queen Lion we know you are, and continue Making your Mark! Happy Birthday Taraji!”
